Co President Ian Kleier started Gumley Haft Kleier in 1995 as a joint venture with his wife Michele Kleier – already one of Manhattan’s top real estate brokers.

Prior to forming Gumley Haft Kleier Ian had an illustrious career in the advertising world first as a copy writer for BBDO, then as Vice President-advertising for Loews corporation and finally as the head of Cavaleri & Kleier, a dynamic advertising agency specializing in entertainment and travel.

At Gumley Haft Kleier Ian handles the marketing and business end of the company while Michele concentrates on the brokerage side, along with his children Samantha, Sabrina and Jonathan, and his son in law Robert Morgenstern.

Like his family, Ian is an animal lover who supports multiple animal charities including the ASPCA, Bide A Wee, Stray From the Heart, and The Humane Society. He is also a classic movie lover and has one of the most extensive collections of original movie posters and entertainment photography.

Since its inception Gumley Haft Kleier has become the leading boutique real estate brokerage in Manhattan and the only one that is family run and managed. The company has over forty brokers covering all of Manhattan.

In late 2009 Gumley Haft Kleier was selected as one of two Manhattan real estate companies to headline a new real estate reality TV show, SELLING NEW YORK on HGTV.

The TV series became an overnight rating hit in its first year and was just renewed for two additional 13 week cycles. Ian along with the rest of his talented family play major roles on the show.
